Duties
The Water Department is responsible for maintaining 83 miles of waterlines. This department inspects water distribution lines, installs new water taps, repairs any damaged water lines, and replaces inefficient water meters and main valves. Routine water samples are tested to assure the safety and efficiency of the system. The City has two water wells and operates one water plant that provides high quality water, well within compliance of applicable state and federal standards.

Utility payments and arrangements for water services should be made at City Hall, 820 St. Joseph Street.
Tap fees for water services should be made at 1920 St. Joseph Street.
Water Quality Report
In order to ensure that tap water is safe to drink, EPA prescribes regulations that limit the amount of certain contaminates in water provided by public water systems. Food and Drug Administration regulations establish limits for contaminants in bottled water that must provide the same protection for public health.
