On March 27, 2024, the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Manager Agency (FEMA) issued new or revised Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) panels within the City of Gonzales. The revised Flood Insurance Study (FIS) Materials for Gonzales County, Texas and Incorporated Areas prepared by the Deparment of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). These materials may include revised Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) Panels, a revised FIRM Index, and revised FIS report.
Flood Insurance Stucdy (FIS) is a compilation and presentation of flood risk data for specific watercourses, lakes, and coastal flood hazard areas within a community. When a flood study is completed for the NFIP, the information and maps are assembled into an FIS. The FIS report contains detailed flood elevation data in flood profiles and data tables.
